Cable Bursting System

TERRA’s cable bursting systems in the TERRA-EXTRACTOR range use a high-strength pulling cable fed through the existing pipe; a cutting/bursting head and expander cone are then pulled back so the old pipe is cracked/cut while the bore is expanded and the new HDPE pipe is pulled in at the same time. The lineup scales from compact lateral/house-connection units like the X 100 (10-ton / 100 kN pull), through cellar/manhole-friendly machines like the X 300 C (30-ton / 300 kN pull for runs up to ~200 m), up to mainline systems like the X 400 (40-ton / 400 kN pull, remote operation, up to ~200 m) — all aimed at “pit-to-pit” replacement with minimal excavation and high productivity.

TERRA-EXTRACTOR X  400

For renewal of gas, water and sewer lines. High pulling forces: 400 kN (40 tons). Bursts old pipes from plastic, concrete, steel, cast iron and even ductile cast iron with ø 40–250 mm (ø 1.5-10″). Small pit: 1.80 x 1.00 m (6 x 3.3 ft). Top handling.

TERRA-EXTRACTOR X 300C

Replacement of old pipes made from cast iron, steel, clay ware or PE/PVC. High pulling forces: 300 kN (30 tons). Bursts old pipes with ø 34–220 mm (ø 1.5-8.5″). Smallest areas: 0.42 m x 0.60 m (16.5” x 22.6”). Top handling. Can be installed in manholes of Ø 620 mm (31.5″). Dismountable for working out of a cellar.

TERRA-EXTRACTOR X  100

For the replacement of house connections 1/2″ – 2″ (DN 15 – 50 mm) from lead or PE/PVC. Lengths up to 75 m (250 ft). Maximum pulling force: 100 kN (10 tons). Dimensions: L=0.65 m (25″), W=0.40 m (16″).
