Rod Bursting System

TERRA’s rod bursting systems (e.g., HYDROCRACK HC 600 and EXTRACTOR X 1000) are hydraulic, rod-driven pipe renewal rigs that push rods through the existing line, then use a bursting/cutting head and expander to break the old pipe while pulling in a new HDPE pipe in one pass. The range scales from roughly 60-ton (600 kN) units for smaller renewals to around 100-ton (1,000 kN) systems for larger diameters and longer runs, with operator-friendly controls and site-practical configurations to keep production smooth in the pit.

TERRA-EXTRACTOR X  1000
For renewal of gas, water and sewer lines. High pulling forces: 1’000 kN (110 tons). Bursts old pipes from plastic, concrete, steel, cast iron and even ductile cast iron with ø 100 – 600 mm (ø 4″ – 24″).
TERRA-HYDROCRACK HC 600
For renewal of gas, water and sewer lines. High pulling forces: 600 kN (60 tons). Bursts old pipes from plastic, concrete, steel, cast iron and even ductile cast iron with ø 50–350 mm (ø 2-14″). Seat for the operator. Including trench box.
